Migration Guide from Symbian OS v9.2 Contacts Model

The Contacts Model for Symbian OS v9.3 introduces a new architecture whilst maintaining source and binary compatibility.

The key features of the new architecture are:

• A fully fledged Client Server architecture

• A dedicated “persistence layer” which isolates interactions with the physical database

• Improved transaction support to make “bulk” operations more efficient

This document describes how to migrate to the Contacts Model for Symbian OS v9.3. The areas covered are those where new behaviour has been added to the Contacts Model or where behaviour has changed from the previous version of the Contacts Model.
